We recently had the opportunity to get to know the wonderfully unpredictable and wildly dynamic Tin Can Fish Band.
Tin Can Fish Band is quickly gaining the attention of music-lovers everywhere for their incredibly unique and lively brand of music. The band originally started as a duo named “TinFish” in 2006. At that time, the band consisted of guitarist and vocalist Steve Fisher and his long time friend, multi-talented instrumentalist Doug Austin.
The band began taking its current form in 2012 when drummer and hand percussion player Jack Taggart and Circuit Rider/ Single Bullet Theory bassist Keith MacPhee joined the lineup. In late 2013, celebrated guitarist John Leedes joined the band, followed by Joe Conner on the accordion and keys in 2014. Together the band has effectively unleashed their wide-spanning musical tastes and influences into a giant boiling caldron, seasoned with each member’s unique style and flair — and much like a mad scientist, they have stirred ferociously until what has emerged is unrecognizable — an infectious monstrosity of incredible, unrestrained sound.
