Single Spotlight: L.Hunt’s “a friend in old sol”

While music serves as a general escape and form of solace for many of us; very few artist mediums can be asserted as broadly “beneficial” to one’s well-being with a strong scientific basis. While exploring many of the scientific studies conducted recently, it is true that music does have its real benefits. Among these benefits, it has been generally proven that music has a positive impact on our mental and physical health. Specifically, it can stimulate the brain, improve sleep, reduce stress and also strengthen the immune system. With its complex benefits, aside the pure marvel of it; it makes us better appreciate the sheer brilliance that it must require to craft such a magnificent piece of art. This is why L.Hunt deserves only the highest praise for his growing contributions to music.

We previously had the pleasure of getting to know this incredibly ambitious artist, and we were beyond impressed (check out our other feature here). For context regarding the concept, we highly recommend checking out our interview with him as well.

To catch you up– In his living concept album “LifeWork: Passage One – The Question”, L.HUNT explores the relationships between music, written word, theatre production and art in a non-traditional and personally unique way. It is evident that he has worked tirelessly to craft his own distinct style and approach. Showcasing an entirely new sound that marries the drama of theatre with the more traditional songwriting styles of Rock, L.HUNT has contributed to the “Rock Opera” genre in a way that sounds entirely fresh and new.

Within his newest addition to his living concept album entitled “A Friend in Old Sol”, L.HUNT showcases a remarkably unique style and an unmatchable level of expertise which he maintains throughout the track. Operating within his established concept, L.HUNT frequently (and quite refreshingly) veers away from Rock’s increasingly tired tendencies, making the listening experience feel entirely new and unpredictable. This is truly a milestone and a massive accomplishment for this artist. His newest composition flows with a sort of alluring laser focus, while he tactfully injects unpredictability throughout. As the Single progresses, you quickly realize that this is not only the work of someone with an undeniable gift, but the intimate expressions of a seasoned veteran in the field. This release with leave you in magnificent awe; captivated by the demonstrated artistic prowess, and marveling at the sheer thoughtfulness, grace, and emotion reproduced within a single track.

With independent recording continually growing more affordable and accessible than it ever has been; the industry is quickly becoming over-saturated with hobbyists and crowded with soulless fame-seekers. Due to this, it is becoming ever-harder to be noticed within the endless sea of independent noise. The number of new “artists” entering the industry every day is growing exponentially. With this increase in industry competition, you’d think there would be increased desire and need for artists to differentiate themselves from each other. Unfortunately, this is not the case…in fact, it seems that a vast majority of new artists have taken the lazy route — copy those whom are more successful than you.

L.HUNT once again proves that his rising star is undoubtably well-earned as he continues to rebel against this trend. We remain in awe waiting what this artist will accomplish next. This Single is a MUST LISTEN!
